雲母可由黏土礦物重新再結晶而成，故頁岩或泥岩在變質過程容易產生雲母的再結晶作用，
因此常可見到黑色的千枚岩或片岩在陽光下閃閃發亮，主要就是雲母解理面反光的結果，板岩中的雲母再結晶度較差，所以反光效果較不明顯。
某些砂岩也含有雲母的沉積碎片，在陽光下會閃閃發光。
雲母有較高的絕緣強度和較大的電阻 、耐高溫和溫度急劇變化
並具有絕緣性、耐熱性、耐酸鹼、抗壓和剝分性等特性。
應用在化妝品上具有表面光滑、附著力強等特點。

Mika generate from clay mineral re-crystallization. It’s always to produce in the process of metamorphism in Shale and mudstone. So we can always see the shining on the back phyllite and schist in the sun. The reflective effect comes from mica. Slate and sandstone also contains mica but the crystallinity is poor so the reflective effect is not obvious. The characteristics 0f mica will with higher dielectric strength and lager resistance and high temperature resistance. So it is use in cosmetic for smooth skin and adhesion.
